This policy describes how Spec Wars: Phone Empire, an iOS game published by IndieCraft LLC, handles your data. It supplements the general IndieCraft mobile apps privacy policy; where the two differ, this page governs Spec Wars.
The short version
Spec Wars shows no ads, has no user accounts, never asks for your location, and does not track you across apps or websites. The game is fully playable offline. The only personal information you can ever send us is a company name you choose to submit through the optional Name a Rival Company in-app purchase.
What the app collects
Analytics
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to record gameplay events such as starting a game, advancing a quarter, designing a phone, hiring or dismissing an employee, and completing a tip. Firebase assigns the installation an app-instance identifier. That identifier is not the IDFA, is never shared with advertisers, and is not used to track you. Because it is tied to your installation, Apple’s privacy labels classify it as data linked to you. The app contains no advertising SDK, requests no IDFA access, and shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt.

In-app purchases
All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, and we do not receive your Apple Account email or name.
Supporter names (“Name a Rival Company”)
Submitting a name is optional and is gated behind a purchase. No name is required to play, and the game is complete without ever opening the supporter screen. A submitted name frequently contains a real person’s name, so we treat every submission as personal information.
What we store
- The company name you submitted.
- A SHA-256 hash of the App Store original transaction identifier for your purchase. The raw identifier is never stored. The hash exists only to tie a name to the purchase that paid for it, so that the same purchase cannot claim more than one name.
- The time of submission.
- The moderation verdict for that submission.
Publication
An accepted name is published publicly to every player of Spec Wars worldwide, where it appears as a rival company in their game. Published names are downloaded and cached by players’ devices. If a name is later removed, it disappears from the published catalog immediately, but it cannot be un-published from copies already downloaded until that device next refreshes the catalog, which can take up to an hour. Please do not submit anything you would not want published permanently and worldwide.
Moderation
Every submission is screened by an automated moderation pipeline before it is published. As part of that screening the submitted name is sent to Anthropic for classification. Anthropic is the only third party that ever sees a submitted name; their handling is described in the Anthropic Privacy Policy. Submitted names are never sent to Firebase Analytics — only the moderation verdict and, for a report, the report category are logged there.
Retention
- Names that are live in the catalog are retained indefinitely, until you ask us to remove yours.
- Rejected submissions are retained for 180 days, then deleted. We keep them that long only to detect repeated attempts to evade moderation.
Deletion
Email [email protected] and your name will be revoked within 30 days. Revoking removes the name from the published catalog. Your naming slot remains available, so you may submit a replacement name at no additional cost. Deletion is honoured regardless of the purchase being non-refundable — asking for your name to be removed is not a refund request and does not require one.
We may also suspend or revoke a published name without a request from you — for example if it is reported by players, or if it turns out to infringe a trademark or impersonate someone.
What we do not collect
Spec Wars collects no advertising identifier and serves no ads of any kind; no location data, precise or coarse; no contacts, photos, microphone or camera data; no health or financial data; no crash-reporting or performance data; and no user accounts or sign-in of any kind. Nothing collected by this app is used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Children
Spec Wars is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the game displays names submitted by other players, every submission is screened before publication and every screen that shows a supporter name offers a way to report it and to hide it. A single setting hides all player-submitted names and returns the game to its built-in company names only.
